Brother Kier Williams-Thomas in Action

In 2016, Brother Kier Williams-Thomas took the first step on his Masonic journey when he joined Oak Lawn Lodge No. 1166. Marking a “pivotal moment” in his life, Brother Thomas tells us this story and what has come of his decision to join our fraternity.

“Becoming a member of Oak Lawn Lodge No. 1166 in 2016 was a pivotal moment in my life. It wasn't just joining a fraternity; it was an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. As a member, I have found a supportive community that encourages me to push myself and strive for excellence in all areas of my life.

One of the most significant ways that becoming a Freemason helped me better myself was by inspiring me to return to college and finish my education at Chicago State University. The values of education, self-improvement, and commitment that I learned as a lodge member motivated me to pursue my academic goals with renewed determination.

In addition to my academic pursuits, the lodge also provided me with the opportunity to participate in community service projects, fellowship with other members, and enjoy group outings. Through these experiences, I have been able to develop meaningful connections with people from different walks of life and backgrounds. I have used the teachings of Masonry to better myself as a man and as a human being, and I love and respect every Brother of different cultures and faiths.

I am grateful for the support and guidance of my fellow Brothers, and I am excited to continue growing and giving back to the community as a proud member of the lodge.”
