Our Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Illinois A. F. & A. M

Most Worshipful Brother David P. Lynch is the Grand Master of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Illinois. He was elected to that office in October 2023. He is responsible for leading Illinois Freemasonry which consist of the fraternal operations of the 4th largest Masonic grand jurisdiction (by membership size) in the United States and the charities operations of the several Illinois Masonic Charities organizations.

Brother Lynch has enjoyed an active Masonic journey spanning more than 36 years of dedication, service, and leadership for our ancient and honorable fraternity. Crete Lodge No. 763 in Crete, IL is Brother Lynch’s mother lodge in which he served as Secretary for approximately 20 years. He is an advocate of Masonic education which was recognized by receiving a teaching commission as a Certified Lodge Instructor. Working closely with the Brethren and lodges in the Northeastern Area of the state, Brother Lynch served in multiple leadership roles including as the Area Deputy Grand Master. For his outstanding contributions and service to the Grand Lodge of Illinois, Brother Lynch was awarded “Mason of the Year” in 2014.

In the Appendant Masonic organizations, Brother Lynch has been an active member including receiving notable distinctions and honors. For example, in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, he was recognized for his dedication and service as an honorary member of the Supreme Council 33°.
